We’ve all been hearing about Blu-ray and high-definition televisions. But, what is blu-ray, really? Blu-ray is also known as Blue-Ray Disc and is the next generation optical disc format. The format was developed to enable recording, rewriting and playback of high-definition video.

The Blu-Ray DVD format allows more than five times the storage capacity of traditional DVDs and hold up to 25GB on a single-layer disc and 50 GB on a dual layer disc.  This combination of top-notch technology and extra storage offers home viewers an unprecedented viewing experience.

PC: Game of the Year

posted by admin

Though there’s often a lot of speculation about which title will be named game of the year in the various PC gaming publications, this year there’s no comparing to Bethesda Software’s Fallout 3.  The previous two PC games in the series, Fallout and Fallout 2, were cult classics regarded as excellent games, but unable to branch into the mainstream market.  However Fallout 3, combining elements of survival horror, shooting, and role-playing, marks a triumph of hybrid genre innovation.  The game features an eerie post apocalyptic landscape where the main character will be fighting zombies, mutants, and desperate survivors, in addition to trying to ward off radioactive poisoning.  Fallout 3’s combat system is one of its key innovations, combining the intensity of a shooting game with the strategy and finesse of a role-playing title.

If Fallout 3 doesn’t win PC game of the year, it will be fairly obvious the gaming publications are taking kickbacks from a rival gaming behemoth like Electronic Arts.
